Summary

The Project, developed by Shamol Zarafshan Energy FE LLC, a special purpose company wholly owned by Masdar, involves the development, construction, and operation of a 500 MW wind power project. Located in the Tamdy District of Uzbekistan, approximately 7 km east of Zarafshan City, the project spans 9,600 hectares in the Navoi Region of the Kyzylkum Desert. The complainants, who requested to keep their identities confidential, claimed that species and biodiversity are at risk of harm from the Zarafshan Wind Project.
